Course Objectives

At the end of the course, and depending on your personal work, you should be able to:

–  exchange information on everyday matters:  introduce yourself and others, talk about your activities, your health, your surroundings (home, hobbies, shops, travel, holidays)

–  describe and compare places (town, neighborhood, accommodation, etc.), people, things

–  ask and give advice and directions

– identify and produce phonemes: sharpen your ear and perfect your pronunciation

– reproduce intonation, elisions and stress: these elements make up the trio that determines the musicality of the French language.

This workshop emphasizes that the importance of pronunciation is on a par with lexis and grammar.

It offers an immersive exploration of French phonetics and prosody in order to achieve a more harmonious speaking style, while understanding the subtleties differentiating oral and written styles.

The evaluation is done by continuous assessment as well as by a speaking test at the end of the course.
