TARGET AUDIENCE
You do not speak French at all, apart from a few basic words such as "Bonjour" and "Au revoir", you don't speak any foreign language and you are already literate in a Roman language.
Your mother tongue is a language that is very different from French (Mandarin, Turkish, Arabic, etc.).

LEARNING OUTCOMES
Assuming regular attendance and independent study, you should be able to find your way around in public places (hospital, school, train station, supermarket...) and communicate in everyday life with very simple words, gestures and sentences by the end of this course. You will for instance be able to:
- Greet someone
- Introduce yourself or someone else
- Ask simple questions (name, first name, address...)
- Write down words or numbers
METHODOLOGY
Pair work and work in the class plenum.
COURSE TYPE
A standard course (3 times a week, for one semester)
- based on the work schemes drawn up on the basis of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
- all learners are assessed and will be issued a certificate outlining their skills level

EVALUATION
Learners will be assessed continuously throughout the semester and on the basis of a final oral test. They will receive a certificate outlining their level in the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
