French A2.1-A2.2 PHON Workshop Blended Learning : Phonetics
TARGET AUDIENCE
You have a minimum speaking skill level of A2.1-A2.2 and you want to immerse yourself in the phonetics of French, to explore its prosody in order to achieve a more harmonious speaking style, while understanding the subtleties differentiating oral and written styles.
You have computer equipment (PC, laptop) connected to the Internet and you know how to use it without difficulty. Good knowledge of word processing (Office, emails ...) as well as the habit and / or willingness to use applications, cloud and online sharing platforms are required to follow the courses.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the workshop, and depending on your independent work, you should be able to:
– Identify and produce phonemes: sharpen your ear and perfect your pronunciation
– Reproduce intonation, elisions and stress: these elements make up the trio that determines the musicality of the French language.
This workshop emphasizes that the importance of pronunciation is on a par with lexis and grammar.
METHODOLOGY
Pair work and work in the class plenum.
COURSE TYPE
This workshop (3 times a week, for one semester) offers a combination of classroom and distance learning:
twice a week: a 100-minute face-to-face lesson at the INL.
+ once a week: approximately 100 minutes of independent work on the online material provided by the teacher.
Both courses are compulsory and complementary.
This workshop:
– is based on the skills outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
– is intended for people who want to maintain their language level or progress at a more relaxed pace. There might be additional work required outside of the classroom.
Learners are not assessed. No certificate outlining the skills level will be issued and the re-registration in a higher level course is not possible.

EVALUATION
A workshop is not subject to evaluation, and therefore does not entitle you to a skills assessment or re-registration in a higher level course.
