French B1.1-B1.2-B1.3 PHON Workshop Blended Learning : Phonetics

TARGET AUDIENCE

You have achieved at least a A2.2 level in spoken French and you want to improve your understanding and production of spoken French and receive advice for achieving more precise pronunciation by working on intonation, elision and stress.

You have computer equipment (PC, laptop) connected to the Internet and you know how to use it without difficulty. Good knowledge of word processing (Office, emails ...) as well as the habit and / or willingness to use applications, cloud and online sharing platforms are required to follow the courses.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the workshop, and depending on your independent work, you should be able to:

– Identify and produce sounds: refine your listening and perfect your pronunciation

– Articulate difficult phonemes precisely

– Realise the link between the pronunciation and the spelling of words

– Master prosody for natural and fluent speaking style.

METHODOLOGY

Pair work and work in the class plenum.

TYPE DE COURS

This workshop (3 times a week, for one semester) offers a combination of classroom and distance learning:

twice a week: a 100-minute face-to-face lesson at the INL.

+ once a week: approximately 100 minutes of independent work on the online material provided by the teacher.

Both courses are compulsory and complementary.

This workshop:

– is based on the skills outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

– is intended for people who want to maintain their language level or progress at a more relaxed pace. There might be additional work required outside of the classroom.

Learners are not assessed. No certificate outlining the skills level will be issued and the re-registration in a higher level course is not possible.
