French B2.2-B2.3-C1 Workshop : Creative writing

TARGET AUDIENCE

You have achieved at least a B2.1 level and want to write for pleasure.
No specific knowledge of art is required.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

You will develop your language skills and exercise your creativity by writing a variety of texts, based on playful constraints in relation to the outcomes of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Assuming regular attendance and independent study, you should be able to do the following by the end of this workshop:

Write clear, detailed, well-constructed descriptive and fictional texts in a confident, personal and natural style.

METHODOLOGY

You write in class from a stimulus (text/photo/table, game, etc.), and continue the work outside of class if necessary. You send the text by email to the teacher who sends it back to you corrected. At the beginning of the next lesson, you read your written production of the week aloud in class, sharing it with the other participants (work on speaking > phonetics, rhythm).

COURSE TYPE

This workshop (once a week, for one semester):

– is based on the skills outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

– is intended for people who want to maintain their language level or progress at a more relaxed pace. There might be additional work required outside of the classroom.

Learners are not assessed. No certificate outlining the skills level will be issued and re-registration in a higher level course is not possible.

COURSE MATERIALS

Writing stimulus can be of all kinds: writing, visual arts.

eVALUATION

A workshop is not subject to evaluation, and therefore does not entitle you to a skills assessment or re-registration in a higher level course.
